Welcome to Café en la Granja (Coffee on the Farm)! This is my coffee shop holiday with an off-grid twist!
There aren't any human visitors except for me here at Café en la Granja, but there are plenty of furry and feathered friends that like to visit me in southern Arizona. It was a bit chilly this morning, so a fire in the chimenea sounded like a lovely idea. I wasn't the only one who thought so!
Begonia the Baby Bunny decided the fire was a good idea this chilly morning. She hopped up for a visit and curled up under the chimenea for a good bit. She isn't the chatty type, but she is awfully cute!
Renee the Raven likes to swing by and gab in the morning, she is awfully noisy and to be honest I wish she would keep it down sometimes! I do love the ravens so much. I feel like they are the guardians of my property.
Terry the Box Turtle poked his head out for a morning visit, although he is always grumpy.
He was awfully rude when he peed on me! A fun and welcome visitor, nonetheless.
Mary the Morning Dove comes by every morning and sings her song. I find it to be quite beautiful, but melancholy. I was surprised she let me get so close to her, usually she is very skiddish, but she eventually flew off.
And finally, a surprise visit from a beautiful cactus flower, that is not quite opened up but will be in full bloom in the afternoon sun.
Being a homesteader, I don't get to go out all that much to visit coffee shops, theaters, restaurants, malls, etc. Instead, I find the joys and delights of living in nature 100% of the time. Sometimes it does get lonely, but I find peace with my critters and birds, they really are the apple of my eye on the homestead.
I am doing the farmer's market this year, so I will be getting lots of socializing there, and I think there is a mobile coffee shop! For now, its espresso pour overs and french pressed coffee here at Café en la Granja 😊 🌾
