Conversations on the street, traffic flows, the calls of birds in the park.
Yes, this is the reality of the big city.
Sometimes there is such a mood that you want silence and solitude. Probably all introverts can say that. But how to do it in a big city?
This coffee shop is just the place where you will find such a corner to relax.
The cafe is called "Brodsky". It is located in the very center of the city, at the crossroads of two noisy streets. Inside the cafe is always quiet, as it was this time. I was the only visitor.
Iosif Brodsky-was a Russian and American poet and essayist.
Brodsky was awarded the 1987 Nobel Prize in Literature "for an all-embracing authorship, imbued with clarity of thought and poetic intensity".
I sat at the table, drank coffee, looked at the portrait of "Brodsky" and remembered his poems. I like his poetry. The imagery of his thoughts. Perhaps in translation all this loses its charm.
I wanted to open the book of his poems, leaf through it in silence, find some harmony with my mood. It’s a pity, apart from coffee and desserts, they didn’t offer me anything else.
Although I would be glad to see a book on the table next to the coffee.
Minutes alone with coffee fly by quickly. I look out the window, at a noisy street, it's time for me to go about my business.
What can I tell you? Cafe "Brodsky" is a great place for introverts.
Your voice, your body, your name
mean nothing to me now. No one destroyed them.
It's just that, in order to forget one life, a person needs to live
at least one other life. And I have served that portion.
