Today I am going to tell you about a visit I made to Mi Cafecito, a small place located in one of the historical alleys of the city of Cumaná, where I was born and where I live: Juncal Alley. I had previously told you that this city is made of small stories that make it really great, people who work, strive and stay.
This alley connects two parts of the city, very popular because they are in the center of the city. Look at the buildings and windows, they are part of the old city, with more history.
It is an intimate, small and comfortable place. It is organized as a small souvenir shop. Where you can find typical and handmade products of the area: papelón, cocoa, coconut oil, gofio, snacks, among others.
This little coffee shop I just got to know this weekend. I remember that for the last edition they suggested a cafe where they sold handicrafts ... but I had not yet discovered this little corner.
But the best thing about this place is their coffee. They grind it in the same place. The coffee is the popular negrito cumanés, pure, aromatic, very hot and you can even serve it yourself. Its taste is homemade, homemade, you feel like you made it at home.
Tasting coffee here, in this cozy atmosphere, is fantastic. You can chat with people coming and going, asking prices and exploring the products. Everyone lingers for a while. Standing or sitting, they make you feel very comfortable and even though it's a naturally ventilated place, it's not hot, it's cool.
To accompany my coffee, something sweet or salty, it depends on a few things. The type of coffee, the time and the place. With this black coffee, very hot, very aromatic, I have accompanied it with Japanese peanuts, which is semi-sweet and salty. Do you think it is a strange combination, not at all, you should try it!
The peanuts are also sold there. It was nice and tasty, new and crunchy. I never drink black coffee with anything sweet; in fact I always drink black coffee without sugar. So today I took advantage of it and made a combination that is now commonplace.
Well friends, coffee lovers, Mi Cafecito is a place to stay a lot or a little, depending on your agenda or how busy or unoccupied you are. What is certain is that you feel welcome and you have options to accompany a coffee as you would at home. It is a very simple and warm place, just like the people of Cuman.
I hope we'll read each other at the next cafe.
