Hail to the Hive!
I realised yesterday that even though it’s next month, our date of departure from this beautiful country is getting near and the time is getting short. So while I was on a little supply run I decided to start to stockpile some of the good stuff to bring back and also to gift to a few folks back home.
Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee is extremely expensive to buy in the UK and even though it’s not exactly cheap here in Jamaica, it is vastly more affordable . So much so I realised I need to take advantage of that and start accumulating a nice selection.
There are no restrictions on bringing coffee back so it makes a perfect gift idea for the many folks back home I owe a thank you to.
Now my sis has a grinder so it’ll be a big bag of beans for her. We will be stopping with her for a few days upon our return and with her being a coffee lover, with many a moka pot in her kitchen, I have a feeling she will appreciate this gesture.
too has been a solid friend in recent times so a nice bag of the delicious black gold will be winging its way to him also. Hmmm possibly a bottle of Jamaican rum too me thinks for him. Well it is winter back home so can’t really go wrong with coffee and rum. He does deserve it really.
To make sure I keep my grubby little paws off the good stuff I made sure to grab some ‘ High Mountain’ coffee also. It’s delicious also and half the price of Blue mountain so I reckon I’ll be bringing a fair amount of this back also. I have a feeling my bags may be a tad on the heavy side on the way back. But it will be worth it. I did flirt with the idea of bringing some back to sell but I’ve decided it would be better just to bring back this lovely bounty of deliciousness for ourselves and for those close to us. Share the black gold with thoe ones we love. Definitely a better idea I reckon.
Now I am nusrsing a slightly fuzzy head this morning due to heavy Red Stripe consump ( i am doing wonders for the Jamaican economy) so the Jamaican Hight Mountain this morning is a much needed medicinal tonic to clear my head and get me focused and ready for the days Japanese Study, hiving and possibly a little drone flying, which I will need a clear head for.
So I think this will do nicely!
If you could bring back some coffee from anywhere in the world, where would that be? Let me know in the comments as we all have our favourites don’t we?
