That evening, I headed to One Satrio after spending the afternoon at the Kamisan event in front of the presidential palace. Since it was my first time at One Satrio, I ended up getting a bit lost. LOL. It seems like getting lost and I are a combination that’s hard to break. I really regret this, but what can I do?
FRIEND WITH BRU is a book cafe located in the middle of many other foodie tenants. Although the cafe is not very spacious, I think it's quite nice because of its cute and simple design that still looks elegant.
The cafe has two floors. On the first floor, there is a barista counter and a row of chairs with long legs and low backrests, similar to those found in pantries. There is also a seating area at the end, but I didn't have time to take a photo because I had to go upstairs and find my own table while the cafe wasn't crowded with other visitors yet.
The colour scheme is dominated by soft colours such as light brown and off-white. The hanging lights are also very pretty, shaped like butterflies. This makes the whole room feel very soft and comfortable. On the right wing, there is a private room that can be booked in advance. Meanwhile, on the left wing, there is an outdoor room with a total of two sets of tables. I chose that area. You can see that besides the comfortable seating, the sides of the walls are also filled with bookshelves up to the ceiling, and the collection is diverse, from fiction and literature to politics and biographies. So, while visitors enjoy their coffee, they can also choose a book that suits their genre.
After Vita arrived, the three of us ordered our drinks. Vivi ordered a strawberry drink, I ordered my usual iced americano, and Vita ordered a latte. And since I hadn't eaten yet, I also ordered rice with chicken. For me, it's really no problem to eat rice with bitter coffee. Everything is still delicious in my own way.
The three of us gathered because we wanted to work on a project together about India, as Vita is very fond of India. That’s how I spent my Thursday evening at One Satrio that day. Then, not long after, I went home using the MRT because it was still operating. That’s all for my story. Thank you for reading. See you in my next post.
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.
