If I always order coffee at the bookcafe, for this trip to the cafebook I actually want to order a variety of their tea drinks. The bookcafe I am going to visit is about 12 kilometres from my house. And because I am tired of Jakarta's traffic jams, I choose to use public transport. I will take the MRT and get off at Cipete Tuku station. From the station, I still have to travel about one and a half kilometres, and I will continue my journey using an online motorcycle taxi service.

TAKSU BOOKCAFE

I found this cafe because it went viral on social media, especially TikTok. I also deliberately wanted to explore book cafes in Jakarta. Honestly, there are so many unique book cafes in Jakarta and its surroundings. Taksu Bookcafe is one of them.

Taksu is a book cafe with a cosy, homely concept. Inside, there are not only free books to read, but also books for sale, and a cafe where visitors can order food or drinks, including coffee and pastries.

Upon entering the front room, you will see a homey atmosphere with dark green painted walls. Shelves attached to the walls display books that can be purchased. There is also a comfortable seating area, consisting of tables and chairs for two people, as well as long tables and chairs if you come with a large group.

After the main room, in the next room, there is a space to relax without chairs, which is interesting because visitors can sit on the carpet provided, while in the next room there is a library area equipped with comfortable bean bags. Although there is no air conditioning here, there are turbo fans ready to cool you down.

While enjoying the vibe of Boofcafe, I ordered a herbal tisane called Nawakani Chai, which consists of spices and is healthy. For a snack, I ordered a butter croissant filled with cheese. The herbal tisane warmed my body and was accompanied by savoury and sweet pastries, which were a perfect match. Especially since it was raining outside, making every piece even more perfect.

Time kept passing, and before I knew it, it was getting late. I had to head home to catch the last train. I took some photos of the café to share with you all. Thank you for reading my travelogue. See you in another story about tea and coffee another time.
