When people talk to me about tea, I usually tend to associate it with health. When someone gets sick in the family, my mother immediately starts preparing infusions with any number of plants. My siblings and I call them miracle teas because they really do have a beneficial effect.
I consider myself a pretty calm person, my body can be still for a long time and nothing happens, I can go several days without leaving the house and nothing happens, but my mind has a hard time taking a break. So, in my tireless search for methods to relax my mind, I have gone through meditation, yoga, concentration on breathing, quiet listening to instrumental music and sounds of nature. All those kinds of things are very good, I like them very much and they have helped me, but when I accompany them with tea I feel it takes them to another level.
Specifically, the tea that relaxes me the most is mint leaf tea or one of the same family, such as peppermint tea. I like to accompany it with lemon and sugar. I prefer it at night or when my mind can't stop worrying. I feel that it not only relaxes my mind and body, but also my stomach, everything feels so light.
One of the things I really like about teas is that most of these can be enjoyed both hot and cold. One of my favorites to consume after being chilled, was presented by friend , Jamaica tea, that one in particular I like iced, as well as cayenne tea, which is a plant from the same family as Hibiscus, the resulting tea is very tasty and relaxing. Some people use it before bedtime and report a good rest.
I believe that before going to sleep it is advisable to consume hot drinks, however, I like iced cayenne tea, the same with lemon and sugar. In fact, in my teas can not miss the lemon, this ingredient adds a special flavor, and also a sweetener for those whose taste buds are accustomed to the sweet, as is my case.
When someone in the family is sick, you can't miss the infusions or the miraculous teas. One of my brothers some time ago went to spend a couple of days with my mother and he says that he arrived all bent over with a pain in his lower back and that he left as good as new.
My mom used to prepare him a tea of malojillo, lemon balm and jojoto beard and one flavor that stands out a lot is lemon balm, really all those ingredients in an infusion, with a touch of lemon juice and well sweetened, it is very delicious, hot or cold.
When I feel bad, my first choice is always going to be a tea, last night my stomach suffered for having abused the meals during the weekend and yesterday, I almost couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep. Without much encouragement, I got up and made myself a malojillo tea with a touch of mint, a squeeze of lemon and a little honey. I drank it hot and after a few minutes I really felt a lot of relief and relaxation, so, although I am an expert at sleeping, that tea made me not only sleep but do it with a relaxed body and mind.
So when I think of tea, I think of health and relaxation.
