At first, I didn't know that butterfly pea flowers could be used as a drink or another variant in beverage. The purple color for me is too striking and very rare for flowers, and makes me feel that it is not an ordinary flower, but a poisonous flower.
However, nowadays, butterfly pea flowers have become a type of flower that is quite popular as a drink. My friend who is a content creator has even made lots of experiments using this flower. Not only for drinks, he also makes jelly and other traditional foods using butterfly pea flowers. It's really creative, and I think you know who my friend is. The creativity is limitless for foods and beverages.
Talking about butterfly pea flowers, recently several well-known drink brands have often conducted experiments with butterfly pea flowers. Like Chatime was done. Known as a brand of drinks that are too sweet - at least for me, they created a franchise that is friendly to those who like less sugar drinks, namely Chatime Atelier.
I found this franchise outlet in one of the biggest malls in Jakarta, Grand Indonesia Mall. In contrast to the menu at their main franchise which is only dominated by chocolate and milk, here they also serve menus that have fruit-based ingredients such as apple, pinapple, coconut, pear, and others. But what caught my attention was their newest variant which is entitled 'Rich Rasa'. One of the new menu items is made from butterfly pea flowers.
I feel interested in trying this variant.
According to the waiter, this variant is the same as the usual chatime concoction, namely milk tea with boba. They mixed the butterfly pea flowers and made them into boba.
Even though I don't really like Boba, I'm curious about the taste of telang flower, I'm willing to wait 40 minutes to get this best seller menu.
After waiting almost 1 hour, I got the drink I wanted. Looking at the packaging, which has a batik print, makes Chatime very special. I like the packaging they made.
It's time to try this butterfly pea flower menu. Because the Boba, which is made from butterfly pea flowers, is at the very bottom of the glass, my taste buds first tasted the milk tea, which actually had less sugar. Then I could taste the Boba, which tasted undercooked. I can't even tell the difference between regular boba and this special butterfly pea flowers boba.
Maybe because of the demands of orders, the boba makers don't make it optimally. However, I have to praise how they dared to make a variant of these butterfly pea flowers. Because telang flowers have many benefits, especially in preventing diabetes.
For one cup of this menu I paid IDR 38K, I thought it's slightly pricey than other menu, but it's okay as first time experience.
Or they have to recruit my friend so they can make the telang flower flavor bold in their drink menu. Should I recommend my friend?
