We took a trip to Rufford Abbey, a country estate in Nottinghamshire, UK. It used to be a monastery but in the 16th century was changed into a country house and now managed by the English Heritage.
There's a few places in the park to get something to eat and drink. There's even a stonebaked pizza van.
As it was fast approaching Halloween time, there was a ghost hunt throughout the park for the kids. Follow the map into the woods and find the ghosts and ghouls!
Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year so it was good fun for adults too!
We had a leisurely walk from the abbey to the lake to feed the birds.
We came across an 'ice house'. On the information board it states that frozen water was taken from the lake to be then taken into the abbey to chill the residents food and drink.
Near the Abbey is Rufford Ford.
It is quite common for car drivers to misjudge the depth of the water after heavy rain and get stuck. It's become a bit of a hotspot for YouTubers to film there. 😁
Overall, it is a lovely place to visit whatever the time of year.
