My Sunday was full and busy, but I found time to stroll around a lake. I hadn’t been to this place before. It’s right in the middle of a suburban town not far from Minneapolis and is surrounded by condo developments and a large kids’ park, so I was very surprised to see a pair of great blue herons, plus a loon and plenty of other water birds.
But I’ll start with the flowers.
They have done a very nice job of planting flowers that attract pollinators, all around the lake.
Now for the birds. I couldn’t quite identify all of them, but most were familiar.
This one captures an egret (white bird on the left) and one of the herons (long-necked gray bird on the right). I kept trying to get the two great blue herons in the same picture but didn’t manage it. They also took flight and I didn’t manage to capture that either. But I did get a picture of the GBH a little close up.
There were rocks in a lined in several places, offering perches for the birds.
And that’s a wrap for this post! Thank you to @cOff33a, host of the #sublimesunday tag, and , host of #beautufulsunday!
