Jet d'eau is a large water fountain in Lake Geneva and one of the most famous landmarks in the city. The fountain goes so high that even if you flying at a height of 25000 to 30000 ft you will be able to see the fountain. It is the tallest fountain in the world. It was built in 1886 and initially was located at the hydraulic plant at La Coulouvrenière to control and release the excess pressure of the plant and then later it was relocated to Lake Geneva making it one of the most famous tourist attractions of the city. If you ask about any location in the city a lot of people will give you the fountain site as the reference point. By the lake side are some of the best hotels of the city and they have this wonderful view of the Lake and the Fountain all the time. There are some lighting effects also given to the fountain at certain times, which is a beautiful sight to see.
At the site, a brief history is mentioned for tourist reference.
The operational timing of this fountain is from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. The fountain is so high that you can see it till far off in the city from places of height.
That's the base of the fountain
Walking up to the site
Views around the lake are very beautiful, which I have already shared in my previous blogs
As you go nearer the sound of the water also goes loud.
Look at these little birdies
This one feels like it's touching the clouds.
When in the city, I love to spend my time at this Lake side. There are many food trucks and restaurants by the lake side where you can sit and enjoy drinks and food. A perfect place in the city to wind up your day.
