April 10 of HiveBloPoMo and the prompt is - do a SublimeSunday post
My first stop is their community page which you can find here . Unfortunately, there isn't much of a description in their rules - see there ➡️➡️➡️
But I'm not giving up that easily so I checked out the communities admin and owner (?) and found this ⏬ Score!
So I guess SublimeSunday is pretty much a free theme about anything that feels right, good, important, or sublime to us. Nice - I like it!
Yesterday I was pretty productive. I had procrastinated over organizing my close to 5000 iPhone photos from the past year or two for long enough. So I finally sat down and keyworded them in Lightroom and moved them into their respective folders to maybe find them for future posts. Unfortunately, that took a lot longer than I had wanted to and it didn't leave me any time to be creative. But on the other hand, while scrolling through LR I found the photos for yesterday's post , and it gave me the idea for today's theme.
What can be more sublime than the start of a new day with the sun rising?
Okay, okay, I agree, there are other things you might consider more sublime. But, for me when I sit at the beach waiting, contemplating the day ahead dreaming, and watching the sun rise over the ocean - that is a seriously sublime time. Hence I decided to share a selection of my sunrise photos with you. I hope you like them.
All these photos were taken on the Outer Banks in North Carolina, they are from different years but all were shot in October. The top photo was taken with my old Nikon D200 whereas the three photos below were taken with my Nikon D800 all four of them with my 70-200 mm fast lens.
I love watching waves crashing onto the beach. Add in a sunrise or sunset, and temperatures other than freezing - I am pretty darn' happy.
What do you think about reflections or rays in your photos? Yay or nay?
A lot of people would try and edit out the lens reflection of the sun in the above photo. Yet I just love how it is a perfect circle mirroring the sun's perfect circle. To me, it actually livens up the picture.
This last sunrise photo is the only one in this set that I took with my iPhone. The sun is taking a peek should I rise or should I hide? 🤣 Thankfully, the sun always rises even if we don't see it every day.
In retrospect, I had a great Sunday and weekend sorting through my photos and now sharing some of them with you. This will also be my entry for #SunThursday and I invite you to share your posts and pictures around the sun under this tag.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a fabulous rest of your day!
Cheers,
