Well y'all, I am happy to report things are getting back to normal here in Virginia. By normal I mean 50° during the day and 30° in the night which to my mind is what I was buying into when I moved from The Frigid North better known as Michigan. I make a comparison of the temperatures most every day and I have seen a lot of single digits back in Michigan which makes me really appreciate the more milder winter weather here in Virginia. I really enjoy working on my lot and it involves a good bit of heavy work such as lifting tree trunks and cutting them with a chainsaw then loading them into the trailer all which is comfortably done when the temps are 30 and above. I have for a long time learned that wearing layers is the secret to staying warm in chilly weather. While doing heavy work when temperatures get above 40°. I have to start taking off the outer layers because before long I work up a sweat!
Hey I can see some water now!
To paraphrase the lyrics of an old Waylon Jennings tune, there's a measure of people that don't understand the pleasures of life to a hillbilly man such as that first hit of diesel exhaust early in the morning, or seeing a sharp chain eat through a good size log. When people see the enormity of a project and you can clearly see it in their eyes that they think you are off your rocker for even attempting it; well there's a certain satisfaction in knowing that you are going to complete the task at hand or die trying.
Anyways I was going to post these tire pictures for a Market Friday post but by time I got home I was just too tired to put in the effort so I decided I would put them in a beautiful Sublime Sunday post. I got 45,000 miles from the original tires. I know I could have easily went past 50,000 miles were it not for the fact that I am daily working off-road in the mud and that is where the slick wear on the old tires really shows up. I guess spending a thousand bucks on tires every 50,000 miles is just part and parcel of using the truck daily to carry a load. Anyways I have put a few miles on these Goodyears already and I am very pleased with how they drive.
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank
for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to
for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
