Today was a both quite special and quite ordinary. It was out eighteenth wedding anniversary, which was super cool. Who knew that when we first met we'd still be smooching all that time later, and be more than happily married. We said we'd get married within three days of knowing each other and it took us a year, so it was kinda fast. When you know you know.
In the absence of a clone to free up time, we spent the morning doing domestics (me) and mechanics (him). Isn't it funny that as soon as Spring's in the air, one starts madly tidying? Maybe it's coz the extra sunlight makes us see the cobwebs and the fingerprints on the cupboards. Don't worry - I hid the bits I've yet to clean from view. My life isn't that tidy, if I'm honest. It's only superficially tidy. Instagram tidy. And yes, that's a yoga swing, in case you were thinking otherwise.
Meanwhile Jamie's busy welding bits of the door for the Defender. It's actually a County door. County door, Series sides, Defender body. A Frankenrover. I've started drafting a blog - it's wierd getting used to Wordpress after Wix but everyone wants us to document the journey and we don't do Youtube. The sides have also been etch primed to prep for painting.
Then it was Ipsos for a late lunch. Damn I love that place. It's a lovely Greek restaurant that knows how to serve a good meal. I was particularly enamoured with some pickled quinces in a spicey red wine sauce and I'm trying to figure out how I can do that with my quinces. We've never had a bad meal there. It's expensive, but worth it for a treat. I can't drink much at the moment but a few during the day is okay - it wears off by the evening. Happy Anniversary to us!
When we got home we lit the fire in the shed and put the sides on the Defender, and listened to some tunes. I'd had this old one in my head all day so we listened to that which led to a heap of good tunes chosen by Spotify, including some good old dub reggae. Happy days.
If you haven't heard it I assure you'll find it cheerful. Feeling pretty blessed at the moment. There's a cartoonist on Instagram that really nails the sweetness of our relationship. This came up this week - just perfect.
I hope your Sunday was spent with someone who loves you and that you love back, whoever that may be.
With Love,
