For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by , I wanted to share a little find I made along Lake Michigan. We visited Evanston, Illinois this past weekend, and while the family was on the beach, I set off to explore a the beach line. The find was a little lagoon with a couple of water spouts.
The area was old; I don't know how old but the I liked the old brickwork that outlined the pond. Aside from the early 20th century archeticture, there were plenty of other sites to take in.
There were plenty of ducks...
Plenty of geese (thankfully, no hissing this time)
An interesting sculpture nestled along one side of the lagoon.
And plenty of fun views of the pond, birds, and people with the vast Lake Michigan in the background. Have I mentioned how much I love the Great Lakes? Lake Superior will always be my favorite, but Michigan is a close second. For those who enjoy surfing, this Lake is know to provide some half way decent waves for us land bound midwesterners...
All in all, this little spot was highly relaxing. The sound of water falling helped; you could see the area's serenity impacting the few people sitting on the benches. Some had their faces gluded to their screens, of course, but others sat in peaceful bliss as the big city loomed just south of the park. It was a wonderul weekend experience, indeed!
Thanks for checking out my #sublimesunday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday too!
