For this #sublimesunday, we took a mini adventure through the local marsh to see what was new. We finally got some rain last week, and a ton yesterday, so life and the green were in full force this morning.
There were quite a few water birds in the area, but my Pixel is terrible at zooming in on things in the distance. It might be time for an upgrade soon...we were able to find a few turtles, however, and even helped one safely cross the trail at one point. Our daughter was enthralled!
We found some fresh new flowers to appreciate:
I also think we found some chicken of the forest; I double-checked my mushroom book to see when something like that could be foraged, and it appears one should wait until late summer. I'm curious if someone else will pick it over the next week, anyway. If you think I should go back to and grab some, let me know below!
We then had a quick snack, enjoyed some more green and wildlife views, and headed home.
I mean, look at that view! To think this is in the middle of the city, you know? How fortunate are we to have something like this a few minutes walk away from where we live. And to think that people want to run a highway through this area because they can't deal with a 15-20 minute commute in the mornings and at night. It's something else...but hey, at least some of these views are being recorded on the blockchain for the future.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work. Hoping the Hive world is having a wonderful #sublimesunday too!
