Yesterday was a great day in the History of the Church as Yesterday was the PENTECOST Sunday The Church Cerebrates Birthday yesterday.It was also Our Parish Feast Cerebration as the name of Our Parish is HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH OGIDI.
The Homily was said by Our Priest Let me share with you.
The Church is Celebrating the liberation from the hands of Egyptians. That day was the establishment of the churches because the churches were in hiding before the pentecost sunday.Pent means 5 which means Five that is 50(fifty days) after Easter Cerebration. We all have received the holy spirit during our BAPTISM and become prince and Princesses from Slaves of Sin. We also received the holy spirit during CONFIRMATION.
The Sign of a woman while bearing Child is the CRY OF THE CHILD. As there was a SOUND when the Apostles received the holy spirit we as Children of GOD who have received the holy spirit will make a SOUND. The Apostles went out and Preached the Gospel of God. Christian are no Longer making the cry. We should rekindle that spirit in us. Let the holy spirit which in us push away things we are no doing good.
In Our Life we should know that speaking in Tongues is not the only sign of the Holy spirit . There are many gifts like Faith, wisdom, Understanding,Speaking and interpretation of Tongues, there are also many services but rendered to one GOD.
When the holy spirit is in us we should have the following Characteristics
- Peace
- Unity
- Loving One Another.
- Thinking For People's Good.
- Thinking for People's Welfare.
We should Beg God to help us that we should the Pentecost which is the coming of the holy spirit there is ought to be a difference in our ways with our fellow human beings. We should Plead for Peace and Unity in the Church Of God.
Different people from different cultural background Lead in the prayer of the Faithful in there different Languages.
Yesterday was a great day in the Church and I wish the Church of God Growth in All Ramifications in Jesus Mighty Name Amen 🙏.
Yesterday was also a sad day in the Christian community as some Christians who went to Church didn't return to back to there Homes. We Thank God Almighty for the survivors and also Pray That the Souls of All those who Lost there Souls May Continue to Rest in Perfect Peace in Jesus Mighty Name I Pray Amen 🙏🙏 .
We Just Pray and Hope Our Country Nigeria becomes a safe place for human dwelling.
May the Holy spirit perfect All in Jesus Mighty Name Amen 🙏.
