After spending some memorable times on the hills I returned home this Sundays. Last few days were the best in my life. As spending time in natural setup with so much quite and peace environment allow me to declutter my mind and thoughts. The natural silence and expansive, awe-inspiring views of mountains reduce the constant digital and sensory noise of daily life, offering deep relaxation. As soon as I returned home in my village, I noticed my neighbour is busy with something at his courtyard. They were decluttering their old clothes to make a new mattress for the bed. I was also looking for such machine who randomly visit villages and earn their livilihood by making mattress from old cloth.
Earlier, the ladies at home used to see old clothes to make a quilt at home but now things have changed. There are machine which can churn the cloth into fine cotton form.to make mattress. Many people find it it worth to make better use of old cloth.
Finding it as a good oppurtunity to declutter my home, I started selecting some old cloth which were not in use since many month. There were jeans, shirts, bed sheets and other opd cloth of my Dad. They were lying unused and occupy spaces in the wardrobe. It is better to make good use of them by sewing into a new mattress for our cot. I collected them.and handover them to the workmen who were operating the machine.
The machine is a unique set up. Built upon a three wheeler, it has a motor that were used to churn the old cloth.
The guy who is operating the cloth and the machine, rolled all the cloth and put them inside the rotating machine.
Soon, the clothes started churning into small pieces. It appears like small cotton pieces.
There is a cotton cloth tied at the other end of the.machine, that were collecting all the churn part. The old cloth is now left with fine churned pieces which is now to refilled into a new piece of bed cover.
The fine churned piec3s were then transferred into a new piece of cloth and the machine guy started stitching them. It took them well over 30 min to make the mattress. The total weight of the mattress comes down to 10.5 KG. However I am quite relieved by putting the old unused cloth for some meaningful use.
In good faith - Peace!!
