TOPIC:HASTY DECISION,PERMANENT EFFECT
Bible verses:Genesis 25:21-34, 27:1-4, 33-34*
Decisions are crucial and critical element of life. You don't need to make decision in life until it is extremely important. To be quick to make decision is to be quick to regret the action. Hasty conclusions result in hasty decision which results in quick sorrow and regret. Esau and Jacob were twins with a difference, they began their competition from the womb and to the point of delivery. Jacob desired to be the first born but was not fortunate to be yet he never gave up his desire. Jacob had it constantly in his mind how he was going to achieve his goal, don't be quick to give up on your aspirations but pursue it in a godly manner.
In the course of time, Esau became careless, thinking that since he was the firstborn, the birthright permanently belonged to him while Jacob on the other hand had not stopped devising a means of getting what he wanted. Most times people don't value what they have at hand as others value it. On a faithful day, Esau was hungry, and sought for quick relief, he requested for food from Jacob who requested for his birthright in exchange. To Esau the birth right at that time meant nothing to him, but it latter meant much to him at the time of covenant blessing. Esau should have asked, what present value will the birth right that was ‘useless’ to him give to Jacob at that time too. He should have thought “why birth right”?
Don't always be quick to decide what is beneficial or otherwise, don't be quick to jump into conclusion and avoid making decisions when you are not in a right state of mind. Be careful to make decision when angry, hungry, sad, joyful, frustrated, hard pressed etc. those conditions are not always permanent. The present temporary challenge will not and cannot kill you. The devil sees beyond the present and that is why he is looking for every opportunity to destroy the glorious future God has for you. Esau actually lost his father’s blessings the very day he sold his birthright. It is an unrecoverable event with eternal consequences.
"food for thought 💭 ": Do not give up on your future because of the seemingly insurmountable mountain ahead of you. Never make hasty decision that will cost you your blessings.happy Sunday to you all and have a beautiful Sunday
