Hello, Hello!!!
This post is about the so-called BANFF Park and region. Ever since we decided to move to Canada, everyone who had something to tell us mentioned Banff Park and how amazing the blue-green water and forest are!
We were so curious about this region, and it was in our top 5 places to go for our first few months here. And we did! We bought a car and got on our way!
The fastest route from Calgary to Banff is the Trans-Canada Highway 1 - in 90 minutes you will get there.
Our first stop was at Two Jake Lake. It was still frozen, but the scenery of the frozen lake was worth it. We were going to go to Lake Minewanka but since it was still frozen we decided to take advantage of the timing and go directly to Lake Louise, and wait for the summer to get to know the area better.
Once there, a daily fee was charged to enter the park (CAD21 - per family). Lake Louise was frozen, but the ice was thin. Still, we had the opportunity to walk on it and take some pictures of the famous Fairmont Hotel.
As we left Lake Louise, we headed into downtown Banff for lunch and a walk around. The small town is cozy and surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. However, we decided to take the gondola tour when we return in the summer.
After the "coffee break" and before heading home, we took a trail to Bow Falls. Very slippery, but we made it!
Looking forward to returning to Banff to check out the colorful lakes and waters, hike, and picnic. The coolest thing is to live near Banff and have the opportunity to know the region during the different time of the year.

# Visitando Banff no Inverno - Calgary

Este post é sobre a famosa região de BANFF. Desde que decidimos mudar para o Canadá, todos os conhecidos mencionavam Banff e suas águas azul-esverdeadas e a flora incríveis!
Estávamos tão curiosos sobre esta região, que estava entre os nossos Top 5 passeios.
A rota mais rápida de Calgary a Banff é a Auto-Estrada Trans-Canadá 1 – a viagem dura em torno de 90 minutos.
A nossa primeira parada foi em Two Jake Lake que ainda estava congelado, mas valeu pela paisagem. Íamos para o Lago Minewanka mas como ainda estava congelado decidimos aproveitar e ir diretamente ao Lago Louise, e esperar o Verão para conhecer melhor a região.
Chegando lá, foi cobrada uma taxa diária para entrar no parque (CAD21 - por família). O lago Louise estava congelado, mas o gelo era fino. Ainda assim, tivemos a oportunidade de caminhar sobre ele e tirar algumas fotografias do famoso Hotel Fairmont.
Ao sairmos do Lago Louise, seguimos para Banff Downtown para almoçarmos e darmos uma volta pelo centrinho turistico. A pequena cidade é acolhedora e rodeada pelas montanhas rochosas. No entanto, decidimos fazer a excursão de gôndola quando voltarmos no Verão.
Após a "pausa do café" e antes de irmos para casa, seguimos por uma trilha até Bow Falls. Muito escorregadio, mas conseguimos!
Ansiosos por voltar a Banff para verificar os lagos e águas coloridas, fazer trilha e picnics durante o verão. O mais legal de tudo é poder ter Banff como quintal e conhecer a região nas diversas épocas do ano.
