Mi nombre es Lazaro Yusniel Lorenzo, aunque en esta fantástica comunidad me haré llamar Enzo Larsson. Desde niño soy seguidor de varios deportes, y me gustaría compartir mis criterios y opiniones sobre futbol, beisbol, etc, con las personas de Hive Sports, que tanto talento poseen para dejar sus tan variados acercamientos al deporte, plasmados mediante un excelente post y una foto.
Hoy hablaré de un afamado club de futbol inglés que viste de rojo. El Arsenal Footbal Club es un equipo de balompié de la ciudad de Londres, fundado en 1886.A lo largo de su historia ha logrado trece títulos de la liga inglesa lo que lo convierte en el tercer conjunto que más veces ha ganado la liga inglesa de futbol (actualmente conocida como Premier League), solo superado por el Liverpool y el Manchester United. Su sede es el Emirates Stadium, que tiene capacidad para 60 000 espectadores (59000 de ellos de pie cuando están ganando, por los saltos de alegría)
Desde hace muchos años se les conoce como los “gunners” o cañoneros, de la reina y si bien han tenido grandes logros en las competencias de liga y copa que se juegan en Inglaterra, y fantásticos jugadores en distintas etapas, lograr títulos en torneo europeos, se les ha hecho especialmente difícil. Jamás han podido salir campeones en la Champions League (antigua Copa de Europa), donde solo una vez llegaron a la final, en el año 2006(yo todavía era un niño… de 24 años) pero cayeron en un memorable partido 1-2 contra el Barcelona de Ronaldinho, Eto, Deco, Puyol, Larsson y un casi juvenil Lionel Messi.
Hace 22 años que el Arsenal no gana una liga. Sin embargo, la última vez que lo hicieron dejaron una marca para la historia, puesto que aquel equipo integrado por Henry, Ljunberg, Pires, Vieira, Campbell, Edu, Bergkamp (que tenía fobia de volar en avión, algo que como cubano que soy, pensé que era imposible que existiera), logró hilvanar 38 partidos consecutivos sin perder un solo encuentro.
