Just about a quarter of an hour driving distance, the TV tower above Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria.
The peak gives amazing breathtaking panoramas over the city.
There was a cable car in the past but certain economical interest to develop other areas for winter sports lead this way of transport into ruins.
I remember using it a few times in my childhood, it was scenery and quick to get to the top of the mountain.
Not to mention the environmental impact as everyday tens of cars drive up there to meet another beautiful sunset...
(there is a public transport by bus generally covering the bright parts of the day but it's quite slow)
