On this small, Indian Ocean island growing sugar has been one of the main sources of income. Now tourism has taken over. The first sugar canes were brought to the island by the Dutch. But it was the the French who were the first to colonize the island and prosper from growing sugar. This photo is my entry to contest @photofeed/photofeed-contest-landscape-photography-round-128
