The volcanic landscape on the photo, is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The name is Piton de la Fournaise and you will find it on the island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. This small island is a paradise for hikers. The island is all about mountains. This volcano was added to the UNESCO List of national treasures in 2010. The hike if you have to walk all the way to the main crater, it will be a 10 kilometer walk to and from the top. It happens quite often that the top is covered in clouds or fog ( as on the photo). The white paint you see is the marking of the trail. Even if fog appears, you will still be able to see the paint and you won't get lost on your way back.
The landsscape is rocky and quite challenging, but the landscape is truely amazing. This photo is my entry to contest @photofeed/photofeed-contest-landscape-photography-round-171
