No matter what you try to do in Da Nang you are going to have a real issue finding anything that is quiet unless it is the middle of the night. The rest of the time the entire city is filled with beeping horns, music competing with other people's music for airspace, people on microphones that are at 3x the volume necessary, and of course lots and lots of construction noise.
This can be very frustrating when all you are trying to accomplish is to get a bit of a walk in and maybe experience some sea breeze.
I cannot do any real exercise at the moment but I know I need to do something, so I started going on 1 hour walks every day.
This is not the first time I have done this, not by a long shot, but for the most part when you do try to do this, there are going to be a ton of other people around and unfortunately large groups of people tend to be rude.
This level of saturation isn't the bad but keep an eye on the rather tall building in the background, because that will be important later.
While it is kind of low season right now, there are still a bunch of people around and with lots of people comes lots of noise. There are rules on the beach about not allowing people to use portable speakers, but they are not enforced. Also the beach-side bars play progressively louder and louder music as you carry on. I just wanted to listen to some waves and perhaps a sea breeze.
So I just kept going and going since I didn't really have a destination in mind and was just trying to get some steps in so that perhaps after this whole broken shoulder thing is behind me, that I have some level of physical fitness and am not just a lump that can't do anything.
I made it all the way down to the large building that was far int the distance on the first picture and there is finally, no one around.
There isn't even anyone working on the very large build and it appears as though it has been a while since anyone ever was. I can't imagine how much money has gone into this but they seem to have lost interest in completing it. Once it is complete though, this place of quiet will also be spoiled so I guess I should try to enjoy it while i can.
It was kind of nice that arriving at that monstrous building took me almost exactly 30 minutes and since I had planned on walking for an hour this was a wonderful coincidence and I turned around. It is wonderful to just have nobody be around me. There is accommodation here and while it is an overcast day it wasn't raining or bad weather. So this is something that you don't get to enjoy very often here.
