Last Weekend in Prague I took several longtime exposure pictures on spots with a lot of people to wipe them out as good as possible I used some neutral density (ND) filters. It worked more or less depending on how long the people were standing on the same spot. Even with my Super Stopper with 15 Stops I couldn't get rid of all the people here. I have to admit that I probably still need to practice a bit to get the correct exposure but it gets better and better every time. With my new Z6II Camera it is also a little bit easier than with my older cameras since it has already several options to better select the exposure time for example 30 , 60 or 120 Seconds exposure time. On my old Nikon D5100 and D500 the 30 seconds mark was the maximum or when I used the bulb mode.
