Probably the last visit to the Ground Squirrels this year

This last weekend I visited Vienna with Tanja and Stefan for some wildlife photography. Of course, we visited the places with the hamsters, the ground squirrels, the grey herons and the little bittern. Most of these animals will either be in their hibernation sleep or are gone to the south the next time we will be in Vienna. 😢

But one thing I am already looking forward to, are the landscape and autumn shots I will be doing in the next months. This is also always something very beautiful here in Austria if you know the right places to go to. The ground squirrels were already pretty slow and only came out of their holes pretty seldom. We saw the first ones at about 9 o' clock in the morning. Even though we were there earlier but the sun was not high enough or something else disturbed them to come out of their holes early.

As usually we spent several hours at the ground squirrels place and then we went on to the place with the grey herons and the little bittern in Vienna. In the late afternoon we met with some friends that live in Vienna and also 2 friends from Graz visited Vienna for a meetup at a "Heuriger" that is a restaurant that only offers cold non-cooked food and things like grape juice, wine, apple juice and self produced juices and food. Vienna has so many places with excellent food so I really love to visit it.
