With only 4000 inhabitants Retz is one of the smallest towns in Austria but it has a lot to offer since it is a nice destination for cycling tourists and wine lovers. It is located near the border to the Czech Republic and has a popular old windmill as you can see in the pictures here. In late summer and autumn it is a the best time to visit this city since there are wine festival and you can get great local produced food and wine there. Also fermented grape juice (Sturm) that I really love. I have to admit that I like the flair of small towns like these and I always enjoy being there. But not only in Austria, also in other countries I love the small towns that always have something special. I am already looking forward to my visit in greece where I will also stay in a small town with a lot of flair.
