The Sigmnund Thun Canyon is a Canyon near Kaprun in the Province of Salzburg. It is a very good spot for family trips and a lot of families with children visit this place nearly every day in Summer. When you want to pass through the canyon you have to pay a toll as fee to contribute to the repair and preservation of the pathway through the canyon. There are a lot of spots that are really interesting for photography but using a tripod for photography is not really tolerated since a lot of people want to pass by. During the summer month there can be really a lot of visitors and taking pictures without a tripod is probably the easier way to not disturb the others. I often used the wooden railing as a support for the camera to be able to do also some longer exposures that are sometimes necessary because of the lack of light and also to create this "cotton water effect".

It is amazing how many different colors are there in in the canyon but the light situation and the lack of being able to use a tripod makes it extremely difficult to take some great longtime exposure pictures, of course you can use the ceiling as a kind of stabilization of the Camera but it is not the same. But I really like the different structures the water creates when running through the canyon.
