We in Austria have the luck that we have a lot of rivers, lakes and creeks that run through our country. There are only a few places where water is extremely rare, and due to the mountains where most of the water sources, the water here in Austria has excellent quality. A lot of our lakes have drinking water quality and we are lucky to have plenty of it in most parts of the country. I like visiting waterfalls and rivers that put a bit of excitement in my pictures like this waterfall at the Traun, a river in Upper Austria. I visited this place some years ago together with Stefan for some longtime exposure of the waterfalls there.

Because these are one of the biggest waterfalls in our region a lot of people visit this place for a daytrip to just enjoy the nature and feel the power such a waterfall creates. People say the ionized water that is produced by the waterfall is very good for your health. BecauseI also always feel better when visiting a waterfall, I also believe in this. Something in the high humidity changes your body, and because the body also consist mostly from water it has to do something with it.
We stayed half of the day there and in the afternoon we visited the Water Power Plant at "Steyer Durchbruch" that is also situated in Upper Austria. I already showed you some pictures from there some time ago.

I experimented with several different exposure times, used the camera on a tripod and shoot some pictures from my hands. In some pictures I used a filter in others not. I wanted to catch a variety of different exposures from the waterfall. And I am still not sure which pictures I like more, the ones where I can see the power of the water and short exposures or the long exposure shots with this "cotton water". Both have a different approach.

Because of the different light situations in the gorge of the river it was not so easy to take reasonable shots. Because sometimes there was a lot of sun and shadow combined in one picture other times there was bright sunlight and in another situation there was shadow all over the picture. Definitely not one of the easiest situations to create nice pictures, but this made it even mor interesting for me.
