Today I want to show you some Little Planets. I photographed the whole scene, mostly with 24 shots in 3 rows with 14mm focal length on the full frame camera. I took all the shots in portrait format. The camera was mounted on a nodal point adapter on the tripod. I usually ended up taking a handheld shot of the ground in the area of the tripod to make it easier to remove the tripod from the picture in image processing. With 360°, you inevitably photograph the legs of the tripod as well.
Heute will ich euch einige Little Planets zeigen. Ich habe die gesamte Szene fotografiert, meist mit 24 Aufnahmen in 3 Reihen mit 14mm Brennweite an der Vollformat Kamera. Die Aufnahmen habe ich alle im Hochformat aufgenommen. Die Kamera war auf einem Nodalpunktadapter auf dem Stativ befestigt. Meist habe ich dann zum Schluß noch eine Aufnahme des Bodens im Bereich des Stativs aus der Hand aufgenommen damit ich in der Bildbearbeitung das Stativ leichter aus dem Bild entfernen kann. Bei 360° fotografiert man zwangsläufig die Staivbeine mit.
In the first picture you can see the Asta Nielsen House on the Baltic Sea island of Hiddensee. Since the house is an attraction for many tourists and I took the picture during the main holiday season in high summer, it was not that easy. For each picture I had to wait until there were no people standing in that part of the picture. A real test of patience. It took me about 1 hour to get all the shots on the memory card. Without people, it wouldn't have taken 3 minutes.
Im ersten Bild seht ihr das Asta Nielsen Haus auf der Ostseeinsel Hiddensee. Da das Haus eine Attraktion für viele Touristen ist und ich das Bild in der Haupturlaubssaison im Hochsommer aufgenommen habe war das nicht ganz so einfach. Ich musste für jedes Bild warten bis keine Personen in diesem Teil des Bildes gestanden haben. Eine echte Geduldsprobe. Ich habe ungefähr 1 Stunde gebraucht bis ich alle Aufnahmen auf der Speicherkarte hatte. Ohne Menschen hätte das keine 3 Minuten gedauert.
The biggest tourist attraction on the island of Hiddensee is the lighthouse on Dornbusch. Here it would have been impossible to wait until there were no more people in the picture. For this reason, I set up the tripod a little apart under this tree. This way, the visitors to the lighthouse no longer interfere with the picture. In addition, I avoided sunburn on my bald head because I could work in the shade of the tree.
Die größte Touristenattraktion auf der Insel Hiddensee ist der Leuchtturm auf dem Dornbusch. Hier wäre es unmöglich gewesen zu warten bis keine Menschen mehr im Bild unterwegs sind. Aus diesem Grund habe ich das Stativ etwas abseits unter diesem Baum aufgestellt. Die Besucher des Leuchtturms stören somit nicht mehr im Bild. Darüber hinaus habe ich dadurch den Sonnebrand auf der Glatze vermieden weil ich im Schatten des Baumes arbeiten konnte.
This is what the edited panorama looks like for now. You can see the tripod in the centre of the picture and the shadow cast by the tripod. In Gimp I removed it from the picture with the function "Heal". If the structure of the ground around the tripod is even, the "stamping away" works quite easily and inconspicuously.
So sieht das gestitchte Panorama erstmal aus. Man sieht das Stativ in der Bildmitte sowie den Schatten, den das Stativ wirft. In Gimp habe ich das dann mit der Funktion "Heilen" aus dem Bild entfernt. Wenn die Struktur des Bodens um das Stativ herum gleichmäßig ist funktioniert das "Wegstempeln" recht einfach und unauffällig.
I took the photos of the Hiddensee Museum of Local History when it was already closed. So there was no one there but me.
Die Aufnahmen des Heimatmuseums Hiddensee habe ich angefertigt als diese bereits geschlossen war. Somit war dort niemand außer mir unterwegs.
To create the panorama I use Hugin under Linux. If I'm not mistaken, there are also versions of the open source software for Windows and Mac. The use is quite simple. 1. load pictures, 2. align pictures, 3. create panorama. If the individual images were taken cleanly over the nodal point and there is therefore no perspective distortion of the images, the results are usually very good without manual corrections.
Zum Erstellen des Panoramas benutze ich Hugin unter Linux. Wenn ich mich nicht irre, gibt es von der Open Source Software auch Versionen für Windows und Mac. Die Benutzung ist recht einfach. 1. Bilder laden, 2. Bilder ausrichten, 3. Panorama erstellen. Wenn die Einzelbilder sauber über den Nodalpunkt aufgenommen wurden und es somit keine perspektivischen Verzerrungen der Bilder gibt sind die Ergebnisse meist ohne Korrekturen per Hand sehr gut
After stitching the images, you select the desired projection, in this case "stereographic", and then align the image in the next step. Hold down the left mouse button to move the image, and hold down the right mouse button to rotate the image. For the exact alignment, it is advisable to enter the values "Yaw", "Pitch" and "Roll" in the corresponding fields and apply them to the picture. I set the values one after the other and not all at the same time. With a little practice and experience, it takes no more than 15 to 20 minutes to achieve the finished result.
Nach dem Stitchen der Bilder wählt man die gewünschte Projektion, in diesem Fall "stereographisch" und richtet das Bild dann im nächsten Schritt aus. Mit gedrückter linker Maustaste verschiebt man das Bild, mit gedrückter rechter Maustaste wird das Bild gedreht. Für die genaue Ausrichtung empfiehlt es sich Werte für "Yaw", "Pitch" und "Roll" in die entsprechenden Felder einzutragen und diese auf das Bild anzuwenden. Ich stelle die Werte nacheinander und nicht alle gleichzeitig ein. Mit etwas Übung und Erfahrung dauert es nicht länger als 15 bis 20 Minuten bis zum fertigen Ergebnis.

Ohh, schon 1000 Worte. Ich denke, es ist besser in den nächsten Tagen einen weiteren Beitrag zu diesem Thema zu schreiben. Ich will eure Geduld schließlich nicht überstrapazieren.
