The other day, I published a post relating some of the happenings in my neighborhood and today I've got something interesting to share with you 😅.
This storey building you see in this phot is one of the oldest buildings in my neighborhood. It has seen many years of rain and sun. I actually have no idea of the exact year it was erected or rather the construction started, but news has it that it is over two decades, and it hasn't been completed till date. No one seems to really know why it is so.
I usually wonder why it hasn't been completed all these years. The building is sited at a strategic location, a stone throw to the main road and there's enough space to erect another building and for gardening too. That's my kind of place. I'll grow lots of vegetables and other crops there, lol. So even if the owner doesn't want to live there he can let it out after completion, just like the other property owners around there usually do. I see it as an economic waste the way it is now, even though it's value is appreciating.
When I moved to the neighborhood newly, the property wasn't secured as it is now. It had no fencing and was giving this kind of ghotic vibes. Each time I pass there, I usually have this eerie feeling especially during late hours. More so, it became a hideout for some miscreants in the neighborhood. Late evenings, they'll gather there sniffing and taking all kinds of things. Some even made it their abode.
So one day workers came and when I saw that they were moulding blocks, I thought they were for its completion, but alas, it was just for fencing. Well I felt happy and relieved as that was the end of the scary feelings 😅.
But one interesting thing about this building is that it has never been left unoccupied or allowed to be overgrown by grasses. Someone usually comes around to clear and tidy the environment. The ground floor is a warehouse so one church after another usually occupy there. Earlier this year, I noticed that there were some watch guards staying there too.
I'm very much hopeful that one day, I'll see or hear that it is no longer an abandoned project but that beautiful home which it should have been.
