Mary of the World
Last weekend, I was surprised by a visit from my oldest son, who came to Barquisimeto with his girlfriend.
Among the places we visited over the course of those couple of days was the Metropolitan Cathedral, which is characterized by its modernist architectural style that makes it resemble an upside-down four-petaled flower—a view that can only be seen from above.
Inside the cathedral is an image of the Virgin Mary depicted in an unusual way, unlike her more well-known or popular representations: she is holding the Earth in her hands, which is why some people we met there refer to her as the Virgin of the World or Mary of the World.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
