This photo series was more than just a photography project for me,it felt like a real, lived experience of a special day. A day when, together with a newlywed couple, we decided to step away from the cliché atmosphere of studios and urban locations and head out onto the open road. A simple blue scooter, a quiet road, and weather that felt as if it had been perfectly arranged just for us.
In this shoot, I tried to capture the connection between these two people in the simplest and most natural way possible. The groom, who had a tall stature, sat on the scooter while the bride leaned beside him with a calm and peaceful gaze. The combination of the blue scooter with their formal and minimal outfits created a beautiful visual contrast.
In our first photo, the bride lifts her bouquet while both of them look toward the camera. The energy of the image is stronger here. The angle I chose allowed the lines of the road and the form of the scooter to guide the viewer’s eye directly toward the subjects. The presence of the scooter in this shoot symbolized the beginning of a shared journey.
And in our second photo, the focus shifts entirely to emotion. The scooter appears blurred in the foreground, while the couple is seen in the background within a soft, emotional frame. The groom, with his tall presence, becomes like a safe support as he holds the bride. Here, light, depth of field, and composition come together to elevate the sense of intimacy and calm. More than anything, this image tells a story through feeling.
To capture these moments, I used a Sony Alpha 7 III paired with a 24–70mm f/2.8 lens. This combination allowed me to capture both wide environmental shots and closer, more detailed emotional moments. The wide aperture helped create a soft, dreamy background—especially in the third photo, where depth of field played an important role.
In the end, what makes this series special to me is its simplicity. Nothing is exaggerated or overly staged. Thank you for staying with me until the end of this post.
I hope you enjoyed these images, even if just for a moment. Until next time, goodbye.
