Esta será mi participación para la iniciativa semanal de PhotoFeed, específicamente para la iniciativa de fotografía en blanco y negro. Hoy les compartiré mi imagen con un pequeño miniblog sobre ella. Espero que disfruten tanto la imagen como el texto que la acompaña. Comenzamos.
Today I want to share with you this simple but beautiful photograph of a small flower. The flower's original color is yellow, but I don't think black and white takes away from its beauty in this photograph; on the contrary, I think it intensifies the contrasts and transforms the aura of simplicity and plainness of the flower into a strong feeling of longing and memories. If there's one thing I truly enjoy about black-and-white photography, it's that ability to turn everything captured in that format into a memory, so every time I see this photograph I will remember the little yellow flower and how it brightened my day. Although I like black-and-white photography when I photograph nature (something I do quite often), I almost never use it, perhaps because my subconscious says it means losing details, but when I apply chromatic adjustments and see how it looks in black and white, I reconsider giving it a chance. This was the case with this little flower: a simple photograph that wouldn't have stood out from the rest of my gallery, making it stand out thanks to black and white. Hoy quiero compartirles esta simple pero bonita fotografía de una pequeña flor. El color original de la flor es amarillo, pero no creo que en esta fotografía el blanco y negro le reste belleza; al contrario, creo que intensifica los contrastes y convierte el aura de simpleza y sencillez de la flor en un fuerte sentimiento de añoranza y recuerdos. Si algo tiene la fotografía en blanco y negro que disfruto mucho es esa capacidad de transformar todo lo que se captura en ese formato en un recuerdo, así que cada vez que veo esta fotografía recordaré a la pequeña flor amarilla y cómo alegró mi día. Aunque me gusta la fotografía en blanco y negro cuando fotografío naturaleza (cosa que hago bastante a menudo), casi nunca la uso, porque quizás mi subconsciente dice que es perder detalles, pero cuando aplico arreglos cromáticos y veo cómo luce en blanco y negro, me replanteo darle una oportunidad. Este fue el caso de esta pequeña flor: una simple fotografía que no hubiese destacado del resto de mi galería, haciéndola destacar gracias al blanco y negro.
