oh hey! nice to see your still here and active!
I understand you, of course, and your feelings and sentiment..
I could list lots of reasons why I have positivity, but I think we're gonna have to just let this one play out..
Fortunately, it's not gonna take long. It's not one of those extended things and the good news is every step of the way since the very beginning AI has been developing and just the way we could've hoped more or less.
Let me say at least that the fact we have such powerful open source options is incredibly good news and also that we have radical pioneers like Elon Musk who are doing their best to make sure it continues to head in the right direction.. but you never know.
A lot of people haven't probably spent the time to think through how things are going to look when the breakthrough happens.. for me. The breakthrough means two things one is of course AGI, but that's just an extension of where we are now really... the real breakthrough will be when we have these models integrated into our personal robots in physical form.. This will change everything. I don't know if people have really thought it through, but I've given it some thought and it's quite amazing and will change everything.
Also, the fact that even already some of these robots are being shown to work will be in rudimentary form at this point on open source simple dirt cheap technology because the technology is in the models really it's not much to cost to buy a camera and yes, OK you can't get a lot of function from a simple cheap robot that you may get from a very advanced one however I think we're gonna get surprised on every step that everything that we can have access to will be accessible to everybody who wants it.
Imagine for example what an AI robot can do with a few potatoes and basic ingredients.. what it might be like to have a restaurant grade chef cooking for you on a daily basis to your own desires and nutritional requirements. To truly handle all of the bullshit that life has thrown at us... because by now we've all realize that computers until now have failed us and failed in their real mission to make our lives easier or better because they've just made them more complicated and worse due to the combination of terrible software and a capitalist system that makes everything shit.
But that's all gonna end even code itself is gonna end. It's a new paradigm. We don't know longer will have to deal with all of this stuff and we will be truly free and a lot of people are very nervous about that but that sort of makes me laugh... It shows how far we've come from our source and our essence.
The best visual I have to demonstrate that is that of a few dogs just playing or just observing what animals do with their time and how happy joyful they are for the most part, especially when they have food and their basic needs are met.. the same goes for children. Of course they can be quite happy to play all day long in fact I've lived with kids off grid and that's precisely what they did to put twin brothers who played all day long every day for weeks and months and years on end, and never once had an argume at least not one that I saw.
So I think when this is truly followed through, and we have one way or another graduated to autonomy and intelligence and it's gonna be a bit hard from here now to imagine how that's going to work or look.. but I think for the most part it's something like the positive new version of Star Trek where technology doesn't really impede in our lives too much. It doesn't stand in the way we have much more privacy even then we probably do today. That's for sure and we use it when we need it. There's no money and yet there is great creativity and abundance.
Anyways, let's see I'm curious how this is all going to
