The cross-interest problem of prospective students participating in the Joint Selection for State Higher Education (SBMPTN) is one of the topics that operators and principals question in socializing at SMA Negeri 1 Bukit, Bener Meriah Regency.
Taskir from SMA Negeri 1 Bukit, questioned the desire of students from the science department to choose the social studies study program or vice versa. "What are the chances of students being accepted in the SBMPTN," asked Taskir in front of the socialization participants consisting of school principals and operators in Bener Meriah, Wednesday (9/3/2022).
A similar question was asked by Rizki Iwan Bakti from SMK Negeri 1 Bener Meriah. He expects a special strategy to deal with student choices that are different from majors in high school. "Maybe there are tips that we can share with students," he said.
Responding to this question, Kurniawati from the UTBK-SBMPTN Socialization team at Malikussaleh University, reminded students about the ability of students when dealing with questions that they may not be familiar with with at school. "Perhaps the children should have more tryouts with questions that match the choices in the SBMPTN," he said.
Turi from Hidayatul Abadi Vocational School suggested that Malikussaleh University open a Catering Department because the demand is high. he said that it was difficult for his party to get a Catering teacher, while the need in schools was very high. "We also lack vocational teachers," he said.
The Coordinator of the Computer-Based Test (UTBK) of the Malikussaleh University SBMPTN, Asri MT, said that the proposal to open a new department would be submitted in a meeting with the chancellor.
"However, it takes a long time to produce a new department," he said in front of the operators and school principals, including the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Bukit, Razali, S.Pd.
Previously, Zuchriyan S.Pd from the Bener Meriah Regency Principal Working Meeting (MKKS), hoped that more high school graduates would study at Malikussaleh University for several reasons. First, the quality of education on campus is increasing with several indicators.
"In addition, the location of Malikussaleh University is close to Bener Meriah so that children can easily reach it," said Zuchriyan. []
Soal Lintas Minat Jadi Tema Diskusi Hangat saat Sosialisasi UTBK
Masalah lintas minat siswa calon peserta Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) menjadi salah satu topik yang pertanyakan operator dan kepala sekolah dalam sosialisasi di SMA Negeri 1 Bukit Kabupaten Bener Meriah.
Taskir dari SMA Negeri 1 Bukit, mempertanyakan keinginan siswa dari jurusan IPA memilih program studi IPS atau sebaliknya. “Bagaimana peluang siswa agak bisa diterima dalam SBMPTN,” tanya Taskir di hadapan para peserta sosialisasi yang terdiri dari kepala sekolah dan operator di Bener Meriah, Rabu (9/3/2022).
Pertanyaan serupa disampaikan Rizki Iwan Bakti dari SMK Negeri 1 Bener Meriah. Dia mengharapkan adanya strategi khusus menghadapi pilihan siswa yang berbeda dengan jurusan di SMA. “Mungkin ada kiat yang bisa kami bagikan kepada siswa,” ujarnya.
Menanggapi pertanyaan tersebut, Kurniawati dari tim Sosialisasi UTBK-SBMPTN Universitas Malikussaleh, mengingatkan tentang kemampuan siswa ketika berhadapan dengan soal-soal yang mungkin tidak familiar mereka hadapi di sekolah. “Barangkali anak-anak harus memperbanyak tryout dengan soal-soal yang sesuai dengan pilihan di SBMPTN,” ujarnya.
Turi dari SMK Hidayatul Abadi mengusulkan Universitas Malikussaleh membuka jurusan Tata Boga karena peminatnya tinggi. ia menyebutkan pihaknya kesulitan mendapatkan guru Tata Boga, sementara kebutuhan di sekolah sangat tinggi. “Kami juga kekurangan guru vokasional,” ungkapnya.
Koordinator Pelaksana Ujian Tes Berbasis Komputer (UTBK) SBMPTN Universitas Malikussaleh, Asri MT, mengatakan usulan untuk membuka jurusan baru akan disampaikan dalam rapat dengan rektor. “Tetapi, membutuhkan waktu panjang untuk melahirkan jurusan baru,” katanya di hadapan para operator dan kepala sekolah, termasuk Kepala SMA Negeri 1 Bukit, Razali, S.Pd.
Sebelumnya, Zuchriyan S.Pd dari Musyawarah Kerja Kepala Sekolah (MKKS) Kabupaten Bener Meriah, mengharapkan semakin banyak siswa lulusan SLTA yang kuliah di Universitas Malikussaleh karena beberapa alasan. Pertama, kualitas pendidikan di kampus tersebut semakin meningkat dengan beberapa indikator. “Selain itu, lokasi Universitas Malikussaleh dekat dengan Bener Meriah sehingga anak-anak mudah menjangkaunya,” ujar Zuchriyan.
