The Independent Student Exchange Program or Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka at Universitas Malikussaleh officially ended, Tuesday, Febrauary 8, 2022. Universitas Malikussaleh students who were outside Aceh were withdrawn and students from outside Aceh who took PMM at Malikussaleh University online had returned to their respective campuses.
Vice-Chancellor III for Student Affairs and Alumni of Malikussaleh University, Dr. Baidhawi, said that this year the PMM program will be carried out offline. "We have prepared a male dormitory on the Reuleut Campus and a female dormitory on the Bukit Indah Campus," said Baidhawi when closing the PMM at the Cut Meutia Hall, Bukit Indah Campus, Lhokseumawe, Tuesday.
On this occasion, Baidhawi also reminded lecturers that they must admit that according to the Kemendikbud program as many as 20 credits. He also mentioned that from the 30 percent plan for Unimal students who took part in the PMM, only 3 percent were carried out due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On that occasion, Baidhawi also mentioned that this year there will be independent MBKM activities, such as from the Faculty of Engineering which was attended by 100 students and recognized as KKN with 3 credits.
“This semester, several activities have been announced. It is recommended that students join the student creativity program. Those who pass to the national level and get a medal will be recognized as a thesis, in accordance with the rector's regulations. In addition, there are several other grant programs that students are expected to participate in,” explained Baidhawi.
Previously, the person in charge of PMM at Malikussaleh University, Prof. Dr. M Sayuti, said that there were 96 students from 35 in Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, NTB, and Maluku who took part in the program. Meanwhile, there were 106 Malikussaleh University students who took part in PMM in 26 universities in various regions outside Sumatra. In addition, there are five Malikussaleh University lecturers who are in charge of the Nusantara Module program as many as 25 modules.
“Currently there are students from Universitas Malikussaleh who are still taking final exams at various universities outside Sumatra. The class schedule is different, so there are those who have not received grades. They will be given grades after getting them from outside our institution,” said Sayuti.
According to him, of the 106 Universitas Malikussaleh students who participated in the PMM, not all of them were offline, but some were online, depending on the university's policy.
Yuni Listiawati from Madura University and participating in the Nusantara Module program in Group IV of Universitas Malikussaleh admitted that she learned a lot and exchanged ideas with lecturers and students. He attended the Nusantara Module program under the guidance of Ayi Jufridar. “We learned a lot about Acehnese culture, which turned out to be the same as some cultures in Madura and other areas in Java. It's just a different name," said the student of the Accounting Study Program.
Meanwhile, regarding lectures at Malikussaleh University, according to him, there is something different because there are moral values taught in each course. "It's a bit different from other campuses," added Yuni when delivering messages and impressions online.
Meanwhile, Tajuk Tangke Nate from the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University, said that the extraordinary lesson from PMM was mutual respect and respect for fellow students from different cultures, from Aceh to Papua. "We really feel the meaning of diversity," said Tajuk who participated in a student exchange at the Indonesian Muslim University in Makassar.
The Chancellor of Malikussaleh University, Prof. Dr. Herman Fithra Asean Eng, hopes that the knowledge gained during one semester can broaden students' horizons and strengthen diversity among students. []
Memperkuat Kebinekaan Melalui Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka
Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka atau PMM di Universitas Malikussaleh secara resmi berakhir, Selasa (8/2/2022). Para mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh yang berada di luar Aceh ditarik dan mahasiswa dari luar Aceh yang mengikuti PMM di Universitas Malikussaleh secara daring pun sudah kembali ke kampus masing-masing.
Wakil Rektor III Bidang Kemahasiswaan dan Alumni Universitas Malikussaleh, Dr Baidhawi, menyebutkan untuk tahun ini proram PMM akan dilaksanakan secara luring. “Kami sudah menyiapkan asrama putra di Kampus Reuleut dan asrama putri di Kampus Bukit Indah,” ungkap Baidhawi ketika menutup pelaksanaan PMM di Aula Cut Meutia Kampus Bukit Indah, Lhokseumawe, Selasa.
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Baidhawi juga mengingatkan dosen harus mengakui sesuai dengan program Kemendikbud sebanyak 20 SKS. Ia juga menyebutkan dari rencana 30 persen mahasiswa Unimal yang mengikuti PMM, hanya terlaksana 3 persen saja karena pandemi Covid-19.
Dalam kesempatan itu, Baidhawi juga menyinggung tahun ini ada kegiatan MBKM yang bersifat mandiri, seperti dari Fakultas Teknik yang diikuti 100 mahasiswa dan diakui sebagai KKN sebanyak 3 SKS.
“Semester ini sudah ada beberapa kegiatan yang sudah diumumkan. Disarankan mahasiswa ikut program kreativitas mahasiswa. Bagi yang lolos ke nasional dan dapat medali, diakui sebagai skripsi, sesuai dengan peraturan rektor. Selain itu, ada beberapa program hibah lainnya yang diharapkan bisa diikuti mahasiswa,” jelas Baidhawi.
Sebelumnya, person in charge PMM Universitas Malikussaleh, Prof Dr M Sayuti, menyebutkan ada 96 mahasiswa dari 35 di Jawa, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, NTB, dan Maluku yang mengikuti program tersebut. Sementara ada 106 mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh yang mengikuti PMM di 26 perguruan tinggi di berbagai daerah di luar Sumatra. Selain itu, ada lima dosen Universitas Malikussaleh yang mengampu program Modul Nusantara sebanyak 25 modul.
“Saat ini masih ada mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh yang masih mengikuti ujian final di berbagai perguruan tinggi di luar Sumatra. Jadwal kuliahnya berbeda sehingga ada yang belum mendapatkan nilai. Mereka akan diberikan nilai setelah mendapatkan dari luar institusi kita,” jelas Sayuti.
Menurutnya, dari 106 mahasiswa Unimal mengikuti PMM tidak semuanya secara luring, tetapi ada juga yang daring, tergantung kebijakan universitas bersangkutan.
Yuni Listiawati dari Universitas Madura dan mengikuti program Modul Nusantara di Kelompok IV Universitas Malikussaleh mengaku banyak belajar dan bertukar pikiran dengan dosen dan mahasiswa. Ia mengikuti program Modul Nusantara di bawah bimbingan Ayi Jufridar. “Kami banyak belajar budaya Aceh yang ternyata sama dengan beberapa budaya di Madura dan daerah lain di Jawa. Hanya beda namanya saja,” ujar mahasiswa Program Studi Akuntansi tersebut.
Sementara mengenai perkuliahan di Universitas Malikussaleh, menurutnya ada sesuatu yang berbeda karena ada nilai-nilai moral yang diajarkan di setiap mata kuliah. “Itu agak berbeda dengan kampus lain,” tambah Yuni saat menyampaikan pesan dan kesan secara daring.
Sedangkan Tajuk Tangke Nate dari Prodgram Studi Agroteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Malikussaleh menyebutkan pelajaran luar biasa dari PMM adalah saling menghargai dan menghormati sesama mahasiswa yang berbeda budaya, mulai dari Aceh sampai Papua. “Kami benar-benar merasakan makna kebinekaan,” ujar Tajuk yang mengikuti pertukaran mahasiswa di Universitas Muslim Indonesia di Makassar.
Rektor Universitas Malikussaleh, Prof Dr Herman Fithra Asean Eng, mengharapkan ilmu yang didapat selama satu semester bisa menambah wawasan mahasiswa dan memperkuat kebinekaan di kalangan mahasiswa. [ayi]
