After we finished the Iedul Adha prayer, we were ready to slaughter the cows and goats. We were in Musholla Al-Muhajirin. We got 16 goats and 2 cows. The slaughtering process starts at 8:00 in the morning.
After slaughtering, we un-skin the cows and goats. Cutting meat was done by the team. It took a lot of time. We finished packing at 1:00 in the afternoon. We distributed around 200 packs of cow's meat and 160 packs of goat's meat.
Each family in my community earned 1 pack of goat's meat and 1 pack of cow's meat.
My tradition in Musholla Al-Muhajirin in my community has been for four years. Every year, there are a lot of offerings for Iedul Adha.
We distributed the packs of the meat at 2:00 in the afternoon. Before that, all the team members ate lunch together.
We distributed the meat to all the families in our community. We did not distinguish the religions. Though, the offering is an Islamic tradition, the distribution is for Christians , Hindus, or Buddhist followers who live in our community.
The offering or Qurban tradition is a type of social charity in the form of meat distribution. that all families will get the meat regardless of their religion.
How is the tradition of Iedul Adha in your community?
