The month of Ramadan is almost here and before the month of Ramadan comes of course there is a day of Meugang or Mak Meugang in Acehnese.
Of course, before Ramadan comes, the people of this area buy beef which is sold in the market to eat together at home on meugang days.
It is a tradition in Aceh that the day before the fasting month arrives, Acehnese people always buy beef or buffalo to eat together.
at this time in one of the villages where I live, the village government provided two oxen to be distributed to the village community.
In the distribution of meat, each family head gets 2 kilos of the meat.
in our village, not only on this meugang day, the village government slaughtered cows for the community, but on the previous meugang day the same thing had been done.
this is the third time the village government has slaughtered the cows to be distributed to the village community.
The distribution of beef is distributed equally, there are no poor or rich. Basically, the people in our village today are meugang, every family gets meat from the village government.
and hopefully it can continue in the coming year on the next meugang day later.
