The face fly (Musca autumnalis) is a very common species of fly that is often seen on the flower and on the face of livestock. It gets its name from the habit of landing on the faces of cattle. I found this face fly outside of my house, on the plant along the ditch. The face fly is also considered a common livestock pest that often feeds on secretions from the eyes, mouth, and nostrils of cattle while the adults also feed on nectar. It stays under the family of Muscidae, in the order Diptera
