As you all are aware of this line that media has been called the fourth pillar of democracy and this is also true because media works as a medium between the government and the general public and media has an important role in democracy. Today you must be seeing how media has progressed and reached where it has reached. First of all you must have seen that the main news was broadcast through radio and newspapers, then gradually media reached television and today in every person's smartphone we can access media anywhere and can watch any kind of news live from our mobile phone. In today's time, media has become so advanced that we already get the update about the news which is going to be published in the newspaper tomorrow in our mobile phone and this thing has many advantages as well as disadvantages. I have seen that nowadays media shows us every small and big news as if we are updated about everything and there are many such things, suppose you have to go on a journey and a road is damaged on which you have to travel, you will get to know about it in advance and due to which you can postpone the journey. However, nowadays you must have seen that to increase its TRP, media shows all kinds of news which do not matter to anyone because now as media has expanded, many news channels have been formed and news channels have to earn from TRP only and only when the TRP is good, the company will give its advertisement in it.

Now if we talk about whether the public should be aware of everything that is happening in the country, then for this I would say that the public should know only about those things with which they have a direct link. Many times the media presents such news in front of the public which does not affect the public much but it affects the opponents of the country a lot and due to which many times the matter becomes worse. For example, suppose there is a news channel that shows such news in which a person of a particular religious community is using some wrong words for another religious community or some such wrong activity is being done which can anger the people of the other religious community or their faith in their religion can be hurt. So in such a condition, it may happen that there is some fight or quarrel between those two religions or it may also happen that if the media shows that news to the public, then it may happen that many riots may happen due to this and the matter may also escalate so much that curfew may have to be imposed at the place or some other concrete steps may have to be taken. If something like this happens, you can imagine how many problems the common man will have to face and how many problems the people in the administration may have to face. So in such a situation, I think that the public should only see the news that is useful to them, apart from that, if there is any news that you feel may cause riots or something may happen that will not be in the interest of the country, then I think it would be better to delete such news.
However, nowadays I see that to increase its TRP, the media presents many wrong types of news to the public, which have no direct link to the public, but many times things bring such feelings in the minds of the people which is not good for any section of the society and here it is done only to increase the TRP of a news channel. For a small TRP and one's own profit, one should not stoop so low that the public has to face trouble because the side effects of all these things will have nothing to do with any person and neither will the public get any benefit from it, so I think that only useful news should be shown.
