Hello to all hive users 🤗❤️🙏
Hope you all are healthy and doing great in your life🙂
In today's world, we see that illegal activities or criminal incidents are reported almost daily, and sometimes we even witness such events happening right in front of us, which are completely illegal. The biggest issues we see are the misuse of gambling and corruption. Whistleblowers play a very important role here because they bring these kinds of activities to the public's attention, and we learn about the types of incidents happening around us that are illegal. These revelations also help uncover other related incidents and identify other areas where such activities might be occurring. The term "whistleblower" literally means someone who blows a whistle, and the meaning is derived from sports. Just as in a football match or other games, a referee wears a whistle around their neck. When a player breaks a rule or commits a foul, the referee points it out so that other players are aware that the player has broken the rules or cheated. Similarly, a whistleblower brings such incidents in society to the public's attention.

Essentially, it is every person's duty to expose any illegal or inappropriate incident they witness happening around them. If someone sees something that shouldn't be happening, it is their responsibility to bring it to the public's attention.
This seems quite easy to think about because everyone assumes that anyone would expose wrongdoing happening around them, but in reality, such courage is rare, and there are many reasons for this, which I want to explain to you. The first reason is the fear of losing one's job, and the fear of personal danger is the biggest fear of all. You can understand this with the help of an example: suppose someone works in a department, whether private or government, it doesn't matter. Some kind of illegal activity or corruption exists in every department, and many employees witness it firsthand, but it never comes to light because many people fear losing their jobs. This is because such activities are carried out at a very high level, and a powerful person is usually behind them. This powerful person could be a senior politician or a high-ranking official, under whose protection these illegal activities take place. Now, imagine someone working in a low-level position in that department. They witness this wrongdoing but cannot speak up or file a complaint because they know that if they do, they will lose their job, and their life might even be in danger. A powerful person will also be influential, and you all know how powerful people treat those below them.
The second reason is that the legal process is quite complex. If a person speaks out against wrongdoing, they are often subjected to numerous interrogations, which significantly impacts their personal life. They are then asked to provide various types of evidence, which is actually the responsibility of the law enforcement, but the burden falls on the individual because they spoke up. Furthermore, the legal process is very lengthy and can take several years. Throughout this time, the person has to dedicate their time to the case, and their identity remains public. They will also have to confront the people they are testifying against multiple times. During this period, the individual may face various threats, or their family may even be harmed. This is because if they are dealing with corrupt individuals, those individuals will resort to various tactics to intimidate and threaten them. Moreover, the law does not provide adequate protection to such witnesses.
Overall, people hold back because the biggest risk they face is to their lives, and the second biggest risk is to their jobs. That's the reason. Go to any private office and see what kind of things happen there, but no employee has the courage to speak up because they know that if they do, they will be fired the very next day. Some people do muster the courage to come forward and expose the wrongdoings happening around them. These people are incredibly brave, and they usually have some kind of support behind them, which is why they have the courage to speak out against injustice.
