Luck and hardwork I believe sometimes work together. Sometimes when one is hardworking it can bring good luck to that fellow. The point I am driving at is the fact that we need to do our best, then look up to God to shower us with good luck. So, I am going to be looking at the point from this perspective.
According to Oxford dictionary, Luck is Something that happens to someone by chance, a chance occurrence, especially a favourable one. While hardwork is taking your work seriously and doing it well and rapidly. For me I think that I have been opportuned to have both hardwork and luck working for me. But one thing is sure, hardwork most times attract luck.

I will be using my experiences in school to share my own view of the topic.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH HARDWORK
When I first got admission into the territory institution, some friends told me not to bother reading too hard. According to them, no matter how hard I tried to read I can never pass my courses unless I meet some of the lecturers in charge to give them something before they will pass me. I thought of it for a while and decide on what to do after consulting others. I used this mantra " if I perish, I perish". I took a strong decision never to be friends with any lecturer. Never to meet them just because I want to pass their course. Never to bribe anyone for any reason. I made up my mind that I was going to read. Burn my candles and wait to see the result at the end.

Those who discouraged me from reading hard made a lot of effort to pay some lecturers so that they can pass. Some that don't have cash, pay by kind. I believe you know what that means? The first semester exams came and passed, we entered the second semester without seeing our results. We asked for our results and we were told to wait until we get to year two before both first and second semester results will be out. I became a little disturbed, but I had no option than to keep pushing forward. In our year two the result for the first year came out and students were rushing to check the notice board. At first I was afraid to go and check because I don't really know what my fate will be. We were in one of the lecture hall waiting for our lecturer to come when a friend rushed in to me and showed me what she snapped with her phone. I wanted to check when I realized that it was the result. I refused to check and asked her to go with it that I was going to see it later. She never knew that I was afraid of seeing my F9. Hahaha 😄. I don't know why I don't like checking my results after writing any exams. Maybe it happens to some other people too. But mine is getting out of hand. I will confidently write exams, boast of what I have written. But go check results na problem for me. Something will tell me inside that my result if bad. Well, I later checked and noticed that at least in my department, I came out with the best result. Friends, here I know that hard work pays. If you don't read hard for exams and you are waiting for luck, you may end up having bad luck and no one is praying for that.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH LUCK
For some reasons I had to travel a out of town. The journey was not what I planned because I don't like traveling especially when school is still on session. I was to spend three days for the journey and come back. On the second day I received a call from my course mates asking me to rush to school. I asked her why and she said there an emergency test going on but if I can make it to school in ten minutes time I can still write. I knew that I was in trouble because my journey back home will take half a day. I just told her that I am not in school and can't come back. I quickly switch off my phone to avoid been disturbed. My heart started skipping and I tried all my best to stay calm. I just went inside and prayed a simple prayer and came out to continue what I was doing.
After a week, we were in school and the lecturer came in for his lectures and said because the last week test did not favor some students that he is giving another test. Ahhhhn! That was the last thing I was expecting from him. He is a no nonsense man. You can't even go to his office and tell him that you missed his test and expect to pass his course. We wrote another test and that was what he used for our assessment. I knew friends that I was just lucky that day.
I want to conclude by saying that I have not heard much of luck without hardwork. That is for me I don't know about others.
