There is always a first time for everything. But for money, the first time is always like you have won a gold medal. You will always talk about it, especially for children.
Looking at the topic for this week -
The Very First
Many of us have been making money for ourselves for a while now, and as such we've been taking care of a lot of things ourselves. So what is the very first major thing you ever bought or paid for with your money. The first time you used your money to do something that would help you greatly.
When I was growing up as a teenager, having money that I can call my own was like a taboo. I was actually doing anything that can fetch me money. All I do is to go to the market, sell stuffs and bring the money back to my aunt. But I was having issues. I had problems that I want to solve with money, but I can't do anything about it. You know that when I child is leaving with someone else it will not always be easy for that child to ask for things like: buy me this or that when coming back. Those kind of things don't exist because the relationship that will make it exist is not there. And another thing is that most of the clothes that I have was actually given to me by neighbors who had more than enough for their kids and so, from time to time, they give me some clothes.
Things kept moving that way until I got to fifteen years of age. I felt that I needed money, but I had no idea what to do or how to get money. Of course, some of my friends who wore my type of shoes started going out with men at that age to get money for themselves. But for me, I thought that it was not the correct thing to do. So one day as I was coming back from school, I saw some girls roasting maze. And I asked them how they buy the maze, where they buy it from and how they sell. Thanks to God because they girls were kind enough to give me all the information that I needed to start the business.
The following day, I asked my Friend to lend me some money to start the business and she did. I quickly followed those girls to were they buy and bought mine. That was how I started the business. I sold for few days and got back the money that was given to me by my friend. I gave her back, continued with the business. I did that for some weeks and I was able to gather up to #200 naira gain. I took the money to the market and bought a Ghana must go bag to pack my clothes inside. Before that time, I had no place to park my clothes, but after that I started packing my clothes in the bag. And it was like I had a bought a very big and expensive box. I handled it with care more than anything I had.
Friends, this was how I made my first #200 that looks like #200,000 to me. Or even more than that amount.
To conclude I will love to say that when you make money by yourself it gives you joy and you don't spend that money anyhow. You will always feel as if you have done something very special. I believe that we should teach our children how to make money. My son who joined the hive community two months ago just made his first money from hive and he has been very serious with hiving ever since he made that money. If we keep giving them, they will not know the value of money.
