Hello ladies and gentlemen of this community. Hope you all had a great day?
To the contest topic of this edition; best job and worst job.
I am an enterpreneur and to be precise with my entrepreneurship description, I am a makeup artist.
Through my years of being a makeup artist, I have had it quite rough and smooth sometimes in general. There were days due to one thing or the other my craft didn't turn out great as I wanted i.e not proud of myself, and there are were days I felt so on top of the world.
Things like that are bound to happen, everyday is not christmas, lol.
I will share the bad job experience first then create an happy ending with the good job experience.
Are you ready?
Most times after working on my clients for a while, I restock on my makeup products and I love to upgrade my makeup kit with new and high end products. I got this particular foundation, felt so happy leaving the store, like finally, I can afford this particular foundation then use for my client.
I had a booking that weekend for a party guest glam. Feeling so happy to try out my newly purchased foundation. I didn't get to test it on myself first because it was not my shade. The client came although in a rush. I was feeling great to get started.
I began with the foundation application and it was a tough one, the foundation was not blending at all, patchy, lacks coverage. Everything you can think of. Despite my skin prep routine with moisturizing and all, it didn't work
I had to just continue like that. Got it to look better after a lot of strughles. Finished up, gave her mirror to check, she liked it but in my mind I was feeling so bad that this is not how it should be. Normally, I take pictures of my work to post on Instagram but I couldn't this time.
If the woman was to stand beside me and someone then ask me if I did the makeup, I will deny it 🤣🤣.
Later, I saw one of my friend used this particular brand of foundation and it worked perfectly like I expected mine should too. Then I was forced to cross check the bottle with mine. Then I realized my bottle was different somehow.
I could not believe it because I got it from a reputable store but well life happens sometimes.
Now unto the good job part 😁.
I also got a booking for a birthday glam at a photo studio. Thank goodness, I can boast of my product this time. Glammed my client up and she really loved it. She paid me for my services then I left.
The next day the photographer called me again. He said my client dropped a present for me in his studio, so I should come for it. I was happy, although I wasn't having high expectations.
I saw a souvenir bag. In the bag, there was a jotter and other items. In the jotter, I saw an envelope. Guess what? It is a tip for a job weldone. I opened and counted the monet and it was even more than my service charge, I was wowed. That's how much she loved her makeup. To be really honest, I did a great job too.
That's it for today contest edition, thank you for reading.
