Our Physicians and pharmacists should understand the importance of fair use of medicine. I have witnessed that our medical staff feels comfortable in early recovery with advanced generation drugs, which is not only wrong but also dangerous. The subject of Pharmacology highlights the deadly effects of Drug Resistance.
Drugs Efficiency And Drug Resistance
*A little knowledge is very Dangerous; this proverb fits a society where I live. Quacks are very common who pretend to be great physicians, but they are only money-grabbing machines. What is happening around me is worse. These so-called doctors prescribed advanced generation drugs instead of 1st and second generation. Patients, although they have recovered early they didn't show any response to lower generation medicine. Hence, we need to understand the Drug Science before the prescription of any medicine. Our Medicine Ministry is cracking down on these people because they are playing with people's lives. They are the criminal for me as they are helping Germs in getting Drug Resistance.
Also, we should not take any medicine blindly. Most of the medicine companies are now making drugs that have addictive properties. People's lives depend on their availability. I have seen that my Grandfather is the Asthmatic Patient. Whenever his medicine Fexet-D is in short supply in the market, we need to purchase at black market rates, and even sometimes we have to catch the order from other cities. Many physicians around the world also suggested its replacement, but when we give any other brand, it results in bloody vomit and bad consequences.
Similarly, I have been using Brufen Syrup for Antipyretic purpose since my childhood. Now I'm 27 years old, and this drug has had no good results for me. Whenever I take this drug, it does not make a recovery for even weeks. Yes, it is all due to the courtesy of drug evolution. Germs and toxins that result in fever are now strong and have resistance. I have now moved to next-generation medicine. Now it is a good recovery medicine for me. Although I'm happy that my fever has a solution, I'm also afraid that one day this medicine will also develop resistance in my body, and I will have to move on to the next step. What will happen if next-generation medicine does not affect me? Surely, I'm thinking on the worst side. Only Drug Resistance is not the answer to my problem. Drug Authorities should move one step ahead to stop drug resistance to save as many lives as they can.
Final Thoughts
The subject of Pharmacology is not too hard to understand. It is easy, and we shall get easy information about any drug through AI. World Antibiotic Resistance Day is celebrated on November 18. We should participate in it to raise awareness. I hope people will evaluate drugs on the basis of efficacy and on the basis of their resistance in the body. Although I'm suffering a lot from knowing the hard truth that my body is resistant to Brufen, I'm happy to know that I don't have to take much medicine. We should always consult a Physician before taking any medicine.
