Hello there! It is great to see you again. For now, we have a nice group of hosts, so no need of any new application. For the next hangout, we will invited host. Also, don't forget that 3 posts from our members who participate in the new hangout will be considered for curations
Last session, we discussed the topic:
LAWS WE DIDN'T VOTE FOR
We are good citizens, always obeying laws, but with have to agree that some of them are questionable. The community discussed a bit about this topic and brought some local examples, but the logic isn't very clear. We try to follow most of the laws, but some of them for sure make us laugh and sometimes we know that breaking them doesn't mean that we are bad citizens.
THIS WEEK'S TOPIC:
Is a Degree Still Worth It
There was a time when having a degree almost guaranteed a job, Today, that is no longer certain, with more graduates and increasing demand for practical skills, a degree alone isn’t always enough.
While it still opens doors, skills, experience, and adaptability now play a big role in securing employment.
Discussion Questions:
Do you think having a degree still gives someone an advantage in today’s job market?
What matters more now—degrees or practical skills?
Why do you think many graduates struggle to find jobs after school?
Should schools focus more on skill acquisition alongside academic learning?
Do you think the importance of degrees will reduce further in the future?
And to tag a few who are regular attendees to the show, so as not to miss it:
