Hello there! It is great to see you again. For now, we have a nice group of hosts, so no need of any new application. For the next hangout, we will have no one as invited host. Also, don't forget that 3 posts from our members who participate in the new hangout will be considered for curations
Last session, we discussed the topic:
Parenting in the Digital Age: Presence, Provision, or Both?
Last week, we debated the influence of technology on kids. Technology is a facilitator to learn but also a opened door for harming the emotions of a young human. The community debated and gave its opinion, especially on all the problems associated with the internet that can harm kids. We also reminded that good information can be brought with technology and we just need to filter what kids have access to. It was a great debate and we would love to see debates like that in the future.
THIS WEEK'S TOPIC:
Kids and Health
Our current way of life has already harmed our health. It is easier to stay unhealthy with our way of life than healthy. But also we are educating our kids to be unhealthy. This week we are going to discuss the impact of our current way of life on our kids health. Kids are staying more indoors and eating more fast food. We want to know what the community though about this current world problem.
Discussion Questions:
What are some healthy habits parents can realistically encourage in kids despite busy modern lifestyles?
Do you think schools and communities are doing enough to promote healthy eating and physical activity for children? Why or why not?
What long-term effects could today’s fast food culture and indoor lifestyle have on the next generation of kids?
How do you think technology and screen time have changed children’s physical and mental health compared to previous generations?
And to tag a few who are regular attendees to the show, so as not to miss it:
