Dying is something that most of us are scared of and when we think about it, it turns out to be scary. At some point, most of us have had a near-death experience, and having thought about it could be scary. Having a close call is something most of us wouldn’t want to imagine or think of. At the end of the day, whenever that thought of “Oh I was almost going to die” crosses your mind you have no choice but to be grateful and stay cautious.
I have traveled by road several times and I have always seen different kinds of accidents. The ones that have led to death while some that just the car got crashed and there wasn’t any death victim. In all these accidents are always scary and dangerous. Most times you wonder what has happened and how those who survived are dealing with their mental health.
Well, I have had a close call before which is the closest I have come to dying. Well, this isn’t a road accident or anything related to the outdoors. When I was little I had a close call. One thing I love about my childhood is the fact we go for holidays at my grandma’s place alongside my cousins.
As usual, it was the holiday time, and, my siblings and my cousins were all together at my grandma’s. I had a close cousin of mine and we were always together. I can’t remember in detail what had happened at that time, but I remember my grandma asking us to take a nap and then instead of taking a nap, I and my cousin decided to play. We were playing and then we started throwing things at ourselves.
I honestly, don’t know what this girl was thinking when she threw an axe in my direction. Honestly, my eyes were shut and the last thing I know I saw was the axe coming in my direction. It was just a narrow escape as the axe didn’t touch me but was so close to hitting me directly.
I was super scared and I was speechless as I kept looking at this girl and the axe, we were kids but this wasn’t funny at all. I felt my spirit depart from me at that point. I usually did not like taking a nap when I was little but due to the fear and how speechless I was, I stood up, left the room, and went to my grandma’s room and slept off.
When I woke up my grandma was asking me what happened. Well, I couldn’t tell her as I would get my cousin and myself into serious trouble. Till today, this incident is a secret between my cousin and I. Whenever I think about that incident I am always thankful because I don’t know what could have happened if that axe had given me a headshot.
In everything, we must know that accidents are bound to happen no matter how careful we are and we just have to be grateful that we tend to survive them and nothing happens to us.
